The Chita Project is the artistic collaboration between Anna Kichtchenko (CAN, RUS) and Pablo Pramparo (ARG), two contemporary circus artists based in Montreal (Tiohtià:ke). Their approach aims to expand the notion of acrobatic virtuosity. Kichtchenko and Pramparo ask themselves: if our circus bodies attempt to express themselves in a new language, is it still circus? For them, this remains an open question aimed at loosening the boundaries of this artistic discipline. Currently, their exploration focuses on the porous relationship between partner work in martial arts and their acrobatic practice, emphasizing relational vulnerability. Fascinated by the work of sound, light, textures, and scenography, Kichtchenko and Pramparo create eclectic stage landscapes where the audience is invited to contemplate a multidisciplinary approach to movement.
